News

(From the pen of Falcone Robinsbane, leader of The Star Gazers)

9/02/2001:

I realize I haven’t updated the site in a while. A lot has happened. First of all we continue to grow. A number of alts have been added as have a number of truly new members. I want to welcome all of you to the guild. Please remember to add your character to the roster (follow the members list link above) and keep them maintained. This is the single biggest thing you can do to help keep the guild organized.

Also in the last news posting I talked of a guild, Shattering Steel, that was causing problems on the server. Well they have chosen to become part of the Community and the boycott against them is over. Please treat all members of this guild with the same respect and courtesy that you would any other.

We have been involved in a number of raids over the past few weeks with our allies and without. We have taken on runnyeye, mistmoore, Najena and Dalnir and of course Vox and Naggy. I encourage everyone who wishes to do so to organize and conduct raids and events. Do not feel like you need to wait for the Guild Leaders to take the first step. Use the events part of the message board to setup these events.

In other news Oneyewilly no longer exists…well not as oneye anyway. He got petitioned and had to change his name so he is now known as Wilie Dragonslayer and has made level 50. In other character news I have decided to retire Falcone. I just didn’t care for his stats so I have started a new druid, Feadraug, to take his place. I will not be deleting Falcone but I will also not be playing him except for raids and Making TP PP and helping out guild and inviting. I will be concentrating on Feadraug full time though I may start to play Aulerian my ranger more. Several former members have come back to the fold with new characters and I welcome them home.

Many members of the guild are at the level or close to where they can start participating in Dragon raids. Info on what is expected and tactics and such can be found on the KCoG website under allies above. I would like to see as many members as possible on these raids for the good loot and good practice on how to do Big raids.

There is a raid coming up on Saturday Sept. 9 not sure of the time see the post in the event section of the message board. The OCS message board appears to have been wiped out so the original post is no longer there.

7/18/01: Lots of News. First off the proposed alliance with Order of the Crimson Sword is official. This allies us with 2 other guilds with total membership over 100 members. You can find a link to their website on the allies link.

There is a raid this Sunday night at 8pm of the Crypt of Dalnir. OCS is running this. Details are in the event section and will be posted to the message board also shortly.

In other news Oneyewilly has had some RL happenings that have required his attention. He wants you all to know that he will be back shortly but in the meantime to continue on in the never-ending struggle against the evils of Norrath. As soon as things are squared up he will be back and in a mood for slashing so get your levels while you can.

Also there is a guild on the Karana server, Shattering Steel (e?), which has been causing some grief. In short here is the Situation. On the Karana Server a long time ago there were a couple of organizations that sprang up to deal with the issue of large target mobs like the planes and Dragons. Karana Guild Central is a collection of the guilds of this server which have collectively come up with a sign up Calendar for planes and dragon raids, others too but that’s not the point here. This gives all guilds, large uber or small an opportunity to get a shot at the large targets. This is not the case on most servers. On those servers it is a free for all FFA. In that type of Environment only guilds large enough and mobile enough to quickly assemble and hit the target would ever have a realistic shot at seeing a large target like dragons and planes. With the system in place on Karana, all guilds have an opportunity to share the large targets. What Shattering Steel has done is try to disrupt the process by going FFA on their own. This is very detrimental to the stability of the server and directly affects TSG because we are exactly the type of guild that would likely never get to see the planes and Dragons if it weren’t for this system. In Short all members of TSG are being asked to not give any assistance whatsoever to members of this guild. Please do not be rude. Do not harass the members or pick a fight. Explain as best you can why they are not being assisted or direct them here so they can see our policy towards them. There is a long thread on the boards of the Karana Council of Guilds about this subject and you can follow this link or the one on the ally’s page to read about it. I have also put some links up on the links page which is now active.

7/03/2001: The confirmed date and time of the Najeena raid is Saturday July 7 at 9pm EST, 6pm PST, 2am GMT (7/8). This is a mixer event to get to know each other’s guilds. I would like to see as many TSG members there as possible. Plan travel ahead of time. If you need a TP look for Destructress or Tilia but start looking at least one hour ahead of time. They will not be late to the event because someone is late and needs a TP. Be prepared. And if you are late getting on do not expect members involved in the raid to come get you though they might.

6/30/2001:

Last weekend we had a Raid in Dalnir along with Children of Disorder, Our allies. Things went well and it sounds like everyone had a good time. Next weekend there is a raid of the Najeena zone being held by The Order of the Crimson Sword. These are our potential allies and the raid is being held as, among other things, a get to know each other session for TSG COD and OotCS members. I have conflicting reports as to whether this is being held Saturday or Sunday July 7 or 8. I was told 3pm EST on Sunday but was also told Saturday and as soon as I get an official word I will post it. This is a good zone for groups as low as low teens so this is a good Low-level dungeon to raid with some nice mid level loot as well. I would like as many as possible to be there but if it is Saturday I won’t be there, as I will have to work. If it is Sunday, I will be there. In other news Oneyewilly, First Officer of TSG has slain Lord Nagafan himself on a raid of his foul lair run by the Karana council of guilds. His title has officially been changed to Dragon Slayer.

If you go to the guildmagic roster you will see that I have added as many of the active members of the guild as I could glean from my log files. These members have the title of squire signifying that they need to create a user profile on guildmagic and add their characters themselves and then the “squire” version of their character will be removed. If you see yourself listed as squire please take the time to create a profile on Guild magic and add your character to the guild.

Tomorrow night July 1, if people are interested we can try and “raid” the forest giant fort in warsiliks woods. This is a good spot for mid teens up to mid twenties to hunt. This is not a formal raid and if no one is on or wants to do this that is fine. I just wanted something to do as a guild and then we have the Najeena raid next weekend for the low levels, well everyone but the lower leveled members will benefit the most.

6/17/2001: It has been a little while since I put any news up. First off I deleted much of the last news post. It was too negative on my part. I am encouraged by the number of people who have been using the message board and signing up on guildmagic. Thank you to those who have taken the time to do so. A large number of members have not been doing this and I ask the help of the officers in getting people to come here and do there part. A reminder to everyone if you see a member of TSG behaving in a way that offends you or you think is wrong, let an officer or myself know so we can assess and deal with the situation. In other news our allies, Children of Discord, have gotten in on a Nagafan raid that will likely be taking place this week sometime. If you are interested in participating talk to Destructress in game or visit their website. I know at least one TSG will be there, Oneyewilly. I will be adding the link to the ally page shortly. Besides that I am going to try and get the charter page up today and fix some other things with the site here. Officers please note: I will be putting a post up on the message board soon look for it please hopefully it will be up today. Good hunting and see you in Norrath.

6/5/2001:

We can work together to reach common goals. We can hold events and raids. We can have guild meetings. In order to do this however, the membership of the guild is going to have to demonstrate that they are willing to do take the time to communicate I need to see an effort on everyone’s part. How can you do this? 1. Use the message board. Even if it’s just to say hey I'm here for now that would be encouraging. I’m not going to post to the message board unless people are using it. 2. Set up a user profile at guildmagic and add your character(s) to the guild roster. 3. Email me the times you play and what sort of guild events you would like to see. If you don’t feel comfortable emailing me with the info then post it on the message board.

6/3/2001: Well this is the new website. I will work on improving it as time allows but I don't want to spend all my time maintaining a web site and not playing or helping guild members. There is some good news. I found that the guild message board is still active (see the link below) so members can go there to seek help from other guild members, setup events etc. Please use it, as it is our best method of communicating since not everyone plays at the same time or lives in the same time zone or even country. It does require you to set up a free membership with ezboard but once you do you can access all their boards and at least one eq site; eqtraders uses this same message board. For a character database/membership list I have created a guild profile for us on www.guildmagic.com. Although it doesn't give quite as much detail as the previous guild membership database, it is a quick, easy, and free method of having all guild members in one place with minimal maintenance required by me. This site will be used primarily as a gate way and a place for people to get guild news (like this post). Also there will be a place for screenshots, stories etc. Well that’s all for now. Enjoy the site. Give me feedback. (Please) And use the board for intraguild communication.
